In short: A leak can be wetting a floor, a wall or a subfloor long before a stain shows. Moisture readings and thermal images point to where water is travelling, so it can be repaired before it becomes a mould and damp failure.
Why hidden water matters
The mould and damp standard covers damp caused by the building, and structural soundness asks for a weatherproof home. A slow leak behind a shower or beside a toilet can break both before anyone notices a mark on the paint.
The moisture meter
We take readings across floors and lower walls around every wet area, and on any stain. A reading well above the rest of the room is recorded with its location, even if the surface looks dry.
The thermal camera
Wet materials show up cooler than dry ones. The camera helps trace a damp patch back towards its source, such as a wall corner beside a toilet or a ceiling under a gutter, without removing any lining.
Under the floor
Most Wollert homes sit on a concrete slab, but where a home has a suspended timber floor, the subfloor is where shower leaks show first. We look underneath where there is safe access and record wet timbers or pooling water.
